
Robert C. Black, Jr. is a 1987 graduate of Sewanee, The University of the South, and a 1991 graduate of The Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. His principal areas of practice are trucking/transportation litigation (cargo and casualty claims), insurance defense, motor vehicle defense, construction litigation, professional liability, commercial/business litigation and general litigation. Throughout his 18 years of practice he has handled many cases involving motor vehicle accidents as well as wrongful death and premises liability claims. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Robert is a member of The Defense Research Institute (DRI), Alabama Defense Lawyers' Association (ADLA), the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), The Transportation Lawyer's Association (TLA), the Montgomery County and the American Bar Associations, the Alabama State Bar, and the American Inns of Court, Hugh Maddox Chapter. Mr. Black has been published by the Defense Research Institute's "Trials and Tribulations" journal and is a frequent speaker at industry/professional events and seminars. For the past several years he has actually participated in training and monitoring young lawyers as faculty member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association's "Deposition Boot Camp". Mr. Black resides in Montgomery with his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughters, Ann Lowery and Lillie.
