Michael L. White graduated in 1988 from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and in 1996 from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University with a Juris Doctorate degree. Prior to attending law school, Mr. White was employed by a major insurer as a commercial lines underwriter. He also was selected as member of Cumberland’s National Trial Advocacy Team, as well as its National Negotiation Team. In 1996, Mr. White was inducted into The Order of Barristers, in recognition of his advocacy skills and academic achievement. After graduating from law school, Mr. White entered the private practice of law, representing defendants in civil litigation and trial practice throughout Alabama. He now concentrates his practice on civil litigation and insurance litigation and related coverage issues. Mr. White has also defended numerous major manufactured housing clients, litigating in both trial and arbitration forums, and has extensive experience drafting and editing product warranties, with an emphasis upon arbitration and arbitrability issues. An additional area of practice for Mr. White is litigation of complex workers’ compensation audit cases. Mr. White joined the firm in December 2003, and lives in Pike Road with his wife, Martha and son, Carnes.
